The 'External Primary Flight Display' is simulation of the Boeing 747-400 PFD.
Using data from the PS1.3 Broker, 747IPC and VMread, the PFD of PS1.3 is
redrawn on a second networked computer using OpenGL. The goal is to create
a larger PFD.
Possible applications are the PS1.3 home cockpit or the serious IFR pilot
who uses the external PFD for more accurate flying due to the larger size
of the external PFD. In the home cockpit, captain's and F/O's displays can
be set up. Future versions will support source selection and display
switching, and the capability of display the PFD on the ND screen and vice
versa.
While at present only the major functions (FMA, ILS, Flight Director) of the
PFD are supported, this project intends to cover all display modes of the PFD
in future versions.
